Cold Nights, Warm Hearts

The Washington County Homeless Project wishes to thank the many Community Members who came to our Community Night at Wendy’s on Muskingum on December 2nd. As winter appears to have arrived early in the City of Marietta, it is more important than ever that those who have the means to do so, give help. Those among us who live every day, and night without shelter desperately need the Care and Compassion of those who enjoy a warm home, adequate food and a place to sleep at night. National Day of Giving Observed

On Dec. 2, 2025 the nation with observe a National Day of Giving. The annual drive highlights the needs of non-profits such as the Washington County Homeless Project. The Homeless Project operates a drop-in/warming center from 12-3 p.m. and provides a warm meal, clothing, laundry and shower facilities and counseling assistance for persons who have no place to live. The average daily attendance ranges from 30-50 daily, Monday through Friday. The center is staffed by part-time staff and volunteers. Zonta Club of MOV Fall Unique Boutique

The Zonta Club of the MOV would like to thank the community for their continued support of our gently used bi-annual clothing sale the Unique Boutique. This is our largest fundraiser, and all proceeds benefit our service projects, including our scholarships to Washington State College of Ohio. These scholarships benefit non-traditional female college students. We also work to bring awareness for the need of feminine hygiene products, undies, bras, and deodorant in the area with our Delicates for Dignity project. As a former councilman and county commissioner, I want to express my support for Ron Wesel, candidate for Marietta City Council 4th Ward. Ron is a lifelong resident of Marietta as well as a businessman. Ron has a vision for strengthening business in Marietta and I believe he will be a great asset toward growing our local economy.
