Know and learn from history

I recently gave a lecture series on the similarities between a period in Roman history known as the “End of the Republic” (133 BC – 43 BC) and the present era in American history. I believe, with George Santayana and Edmund Burke, that those who don’t know history are “doomed to repeat it.” In other words, the best way to avoid the mistakes of the past is to know and learn from history. Biden orders 50 million barrels of oil released from our strategic reserve in bid to cool surging prices! Brought on by nixing the Keystone XL pipeline project and freezing new oil and gas drilling leases. The Zonta Club of the MOV would like to thank the community for all of their support on our Fall Unique Boutique used clothing sale. After two years we were able to hold our sale Nov. 12 and 13. This is our biggest fundraiser that we hold bi-annually and all the proceeds benefit our service projects. This includes our scholarships for non-traditional female students at Washington State Community College. We also work to raise awareness about human trafficking and domestic violence. I have lived most of my life in The United States. As a citizen of this magical land, I have enjoyed both blessings as well as innumerable opportunities. Yes, there have been occasional setbacks and challenges encountered, however, those were by far less significant than the opportunities. Grant to improve quality of life

Earlier this month, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine visited Washington County to announce a $10 million grant for the Devola Sewer Project. Thanks to a new water infrastructure initiative, Ohio BUILDS, we will finish the work necessary to comply with the Ohio EPA Director’s Final Findings and Orders (DFFO), extending the availability of sewer services to 563 homes within the DFFO boundary. I am one of 81,283,098 who voted for Mr. Biden to be our president. When I voted for him I knew he was not perfect because he is a member of the human race. Knowing that, I knew he would make mistakes and errors but that he would try with all he had to help the people of the United States.
