Morgan softball wins program’s 1st ever district title
OLD WASHINGTON — The Morgan Raider softball team won the program’s first District Title with a 2-0 victory over Indian Valley in the Division IV District Finals at Buckeye Trail on Saturday morning.
Morgan sophomore Allia Rush fired a five-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and three walks, outdueling the Braves’ Shelby Gossett, who surrendered two runs (one earned) on only three hits, striking out two and walking four.
Morgan scored a run on a passed ball in the first. Chole Baker, who had two of Morgan’s three hits, doubled in a run in the fourth inning.
The Raiders will play Hillsboro in the Regional Semifinals on Wednesday at the Philo High School Athletic Complex in Duncan Falls at 2 pm.
