Susan was a member of the United Methodist Church of New Matamoras, but always said that she was just a Christian and Jesus could be found anywhere. She prayed with everyone and was often referred to as an “angel that walked among us.” Susan always spoke the gospel with those in need and had an uncanny ability of providing peace through the word of Jesus.

She also started a Lamb of God ministry, where she provided “Lamb of God stuffed animals” to anyone facing difficult surgeries, health concerns, or adversities. Susan was a lover of sports. She played Golf, Softball and Bowling. She also loved playing cards and was super competitive playing board games and was often known to cheat in Monopoly however she always said it was “simply strategic”. Susan was an avid Buckeyes and Steelers Fan. She especially loved her Frontier Cougars and hosted post game parties in her home after every Friday night football game. She followed her grandkids sporting events until the very end and was the biggest fan of all the Cougar athletes. Momma Suz now has the best seat in the house! She claimed that she was involved in the writing of the Cougar fight song. Susan was a graduate of the first class at Frontier High School in 1969. She loved Patsy Cline, the Beatles, and Elvis. Christmas was her favorite holiday. Susan will always be remembered for her love of Christmas ornaments, her beautiful tree, and her Nativity Scene (JC and the Boys). She was the Village of Matamoras Mrs. Claus for many years where she was able to spread Christmas joy and the real meaning of Christmas to the children in the village. She loved It’s a Wonderful Life, Hoosiers, Gone with the Wind and Game Shows. Susan was often referred to by her family as a real-life elf for her love of sugary sweets especially Oatmeal Pies, Reese’s Cups and Clark bars. She worked at the Arbors of Marietta as the Activities Director for 15 years where she was able to go to work every day and just have fun every day with the residents. She was a Member of the Eastern Star of New Matamoras. She was very grateful to Dr. Kelly Cawley and the staff at Strecker Cancer Center in Marietta and Dr. Abrahams and Dr. Angelov and the staff at the Cleveland Clinic. She was known for her determination, great sense of humor, her love for the Lord, boy was she was a fighter and she was the absolute best. Susan was ready to go see her heavenly father and is now dancing with angels but wants everyone to know…Hey guys, “It is, what it is!”
