Two arrested by Major Crimes Task Force

Agents of the Major Crimes Task Force and members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team prepared to execute a search warrant Tuesday at the residence of Anthony Curry and Clarissa Dougherty, 408 Marion St., Marietta. Surveillance revealed a vehicle registered to Dougherty leaving from the home. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was identified as Anthony Curry. One arrested on possession charge

Agents with the Major Crimes Task Force conducted a search warrant at a local establishment in Pioneer Township on Friday, and arrested Shaquille Marquis Dawkins for possession of drugs. Dawkins was listed as the “renter” of the room agents entered and where they located Dawkins and another individual. The area was secured and Dawkins advised agents that there was approximately 2 to 3 ounces of methamphetamine there, however it had been stolen from him. An investigation was initiated and the plate was entered as stolen. ¯ A patrolman was dispatched Feb. 1 to the Kroger’s Shopping Center in regards to the report of a fight. Upon arrival, it was learned that a man and woman had been arguing, with the reportee thinking the woman was being assaulted.
