Darrell “Sipe” Sutton

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darrell “Sipe” Sutton, 75, of Mission, TX, on August 18, 2020. Sipe was born at his home on August 30, 1944 in Williamstown, W.Va. He was the son of the late Hugh & Pauline Sutton. He graduated from Williamstown High School in 1963. Sipe is survived by his wife Sandra Sutton; brother Dwayne “Pete” Sutton & wife Carol; sister Unice Rowell & husband Bill; two daughters, Carrie Lynn Smetak & husband Frank; Yvonne Christy Warner & husband Maurice; his adopted son Joshua Darrell Sutton & wife Amber; four step-children, Chuck Waters & wife Julie, Teri Mills & husband Stewart, Sherry Erwine & husband Justin, Crystal Scheffler; twelve grandchildren & seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Sipe was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond “Pud” Sutton & Sherman “Tink” Sutton; sister Inez “Poots” Caplinger & step-son Willie Griffith. He was a thirty second degree Mason & loved all his brothers. Sipe loved music & started playing by the age of eighteen. He grew that love into a lifelong commitment, touching the hearts of those he met along the way. His band, Sipe & the Country Playboys played in Ohio, West Virginia, & South Texas. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic there will be no services until June 12, 2021.
