Support Mark Warden for sheriff

Washington County is going to have a new Sheriff in 2025. I am wholeheartedly backing Mark Warden to the new sheriff in town. His experience, maturity, and demeanor will ensure that the office addresses the needs of our county’s citizens in the face of challenging times in the law enforcement community. His 37 years in the Sheriff’s Office from the Dispatcher to the Chief’s Deputy’s position have prepared him for the challenge. He is responsive, capable, embraces diversity and has stayed at the cutting edge of his profession. Please join me in supporting Mark Warden for ...

No one but Nohe; Support him for sheriff

Dear Editor and Residents of Washington County, Integrity, consistent reliably effective responsiveness, and courage to speak truth to power — every time. That should be your expectation for Sheriff. That is Ronald Gregory (Greg) Nohe! I have proudly called Greg Nohe friend and colleague for 40 years. Greg has always been a Leader! He was assigned to our 18th Airborne Corps paratrooper unit and 1st Platoon, 118th Military Police Company (Airborne) as a Sergeant and Fire Team Leader in 1984. I was privileged to serve as Greg’s Platoon Leader. During Greg’s assignment, our ...

Barlow Volunteer Fire and E Squad

Please support ALL Volunteer Fire and E Squads Departments. They volunteer to show up to help any and all of us any day or night. They leave their families, jobs, sleep, whatever they are doing to come help us! Then they have to do hours and hours of classes and training plus organize dinners, socials, and etc. to raise money to buy equipment and have funds to VOLUNTEER for our communities. I spoke with a wonderful squad member in a store this week in between her two runs that morning. She is in her 80s and has VOLUNTEERED for 46 years. God Bless her and others. They are ...

Mark Warden has played a crucial role in establishing the reputation of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office as an organized and well-respected agency. His efforts have forged strong relationships with other local leaders and organizations, and he has ...

Second Amendment guarantees our rights

As a County Commissioner, I voted three years ago to make Washington County a Second Amendment “sanctuary” county. As a former History professor and student of the American Founding, I have always actively supported the constitutional right of citizens to own a firearm. I recently looked back at the comments I made that day and they still hold true. I referenced statements made by candidate Biden about his position on the Second Amendment during his campaign. In fact, I said at that time…..”In my view, a Biden administration is a significant threat to Americans’ ...
