Family Night at the Marietta Aquatic Center has been a staple for The Right Path for 18 incredible summers. Thanks to a great rate from the City of Marietta, we provide a couple of hours of family time and for many of our families this has become a mini-vacation! It has been amazing to watch youth grow up attending our events and now come back with families of their own. We have built relationships that are standing the test of time. A few thoughts

Just some short thoughts on three topics in the news lately. First – Covid and the vaccine. The vaccine can’t keep everyone from getting Covid-19, but it can save your life. Just like a seatbelt won’t keep you from having a car accident, but it can save your life if you do. Conservative, freedom-loving Americans (aka republicans) won’t get vaccinated because they say that’s what the left-wing socialists (aka democrats and the media) want them to do. Why am I suing myself?

Before you laugh at my question, please consider that any citizen of Washington County who resides in the City of Marietta has been doing exactly that – suing themselves for nearly a decade. When the Ohio EPA mandated treatment of sewage from all Devola homes, the Washington County Commissioners at that time entered into an Agreement with the City of Marietta to include expanded capacity into the design of planned renovations at the Marietta Sewage Treatment facility. Thankful for WMOA

As a long time Marietta resident I am proud to say that WMOA has been a genuine friend to the community. John and Chris, learning from their dad, are constantly looking to advantage others. For example, for years and years as Marietta College athletics was suffering, WMOA was always there for the Pioneers. This is but one example of WMOA integrity and caring. Working families need help

Imagine working a job for a low wage, while raising two children, in a state like Ohio where $16.64 is the rate required to afford an average two-bedroom rental. Consider the multiple other costs that are involved with making ends meet -including clothing, school supplies, transportation expenses, child care, and food. According to the federal definition, there’s a good chance you would not be considered to be living in poverty, in spite of the fact that making ends meet on your salary alone would be nearly impossible.
