Spring Sports Stars (4-17; 4-18)
SOFTBALL
*Annie Shelton fanned 15 batters in a complete-game win over Hurricane, 3-1. Allison Curfman doubled, scored and drove in a run for the Patriots while Jaiden Vargas singled twice.
*Brynn Frye was 2 for 2 with a home run in Parkersburg’s 20-5 win over Elkins.
*Allison Crum and Addy Harbaugh both went yard in Shenandoah’s 11-4 win over Waterford. Crum was 2 for 4 with three RBIs while Harbaugh was 2 for 4 with four RBIs. Brylee Morrison was 3 for 4 with a double and three runs scored for the Zeps. Leading the Wildcats was Vada Stout, who went 2 for 4 with a double.
BASEBALL
*Will Tornes was 5 for 7 with a double, four runs scored and two RBIs in Marietta’s doubleheader split with Morgan. Jude Garber went 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI in the Raiders’ game two win.
*Braun Doak went 4 for 4 with 2 triples and pitched a complete game in Waterford’s 20-2 win over Alexander. Hayden Jones was 3 for 5 with a triple, double and three RBIs while Weston Hennes was 3 for 4 with a double and three runs scored.
*Jacob Greathouse homered, scored four times and drove in four runs in Roane County’s 15-11 win over Braxton County. Carson Casto doubled, singled and drove in three while Levi Nichols doubled and had three RBIs.
TENNIS
*Owen Maxon and Alex Greenwood notched Marietta’s only win in a 6-1 loss to Linsly, then teamed up to help the Tigers complete a 7-0 victory against Cambridge.
