Athens Co. authorities investigating a murder suicide

ATHENS, Ohio — Authorities are investigating the shooting of a woman and the suicide of her live-in partner, the Athens County Sheriff said Friday. Athens County 911 received a call with an open line shortly after 5 a.m. Friday, Sheriff Rodney Smith said. Deputies and dispatchers determined the call originated from an address on McDougal Road in Millfield. ¯ A two-car crash occurred Nov. 19 on Ohio 7 in Warren Township. Kaylee Breann Lemon, 16, of 931 Pine St., Belpre, was traveling southbound on Ohio 7 while Earl W. Hutchinson, 84, of 11761 Veto Road, Marietta, was traveling northbound. Hutchinson made a left turn in his 2021 Subaru Crosstrek, failing to yield, and was struck by Lemon’s 2013 Ford Focus. Hutchinson was cited for not yielding when turning left.
