Bean for municipal court judge

We have two good, conservative candidates running for Municipal Court Judge in our upcoming Primary Election, May 2. You can only select one. I’m writing on behalf of the one who has been active in our court systems and active in both the Republican Party and the Washington County Republican Women’s Club for a number of years: Attorney Amy S. Supporting Matamoras residents

I am hearing of the plight of the New Matamoras residents with regard to the decision by the Memorial Health System of Marietta to abandon their satellite clinic in that village. Although I am not a resident of that area, I can understand their deep concern for this ill-advised closure. Being in my mid-80s, I sympathized with those senior citizens who will be deprived of a nearby facility for their appointments. Applause to Yost for pharmacy benefit managers lawsuit

Our political leaders across the country are seeing the serious problems pharmacy benefit managers are creating for patients. I applaud the efforts of our Attorney General Dave Yost, who has sued several PBMs over their shady business practices, calling them “modern gangsters.” Our lawmakers both here in Ohio and in Congress need to keep up these efforts and pass sweeping legislative reforms. Pharmacy benefit managers are insurance middlemen working with drug companies to negotiate rebate deals on a majority of medications. These deals then help lower the out-of-pocket costs a ...

The Zonta Club of the MOV would like to thank the community for their continued support of our bi-annual clothing sale, the Unique Boutique. This is one of our largest fundraisers, and all the proceeds benefit our service projects, including scholarships to Washington State Community College. These scholarships benefit non-traditional female college students. We also work to raise awareness for the need of feminine hygiene products, undies and bras in the area with our Delicates for Dignity project. Lowell Masonic Lodge No. 436 held our 27th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Buell Island at the village park. The weather cooperated and was perfect for the occasion.
